September 2024 Release

This month's release brings a suite of improvements designed to enhance the experience with an EmailAgent. Here's a breakdown of the key features:

Enhanced Attachment Processing:

  • CSV Queries: When a user queries an Agent about data in a CSV file, the extracted data will now be attached directly to the response, making it easy to access, utilize, and verify.
  • Attachment Search: Refined the Agent's attachment search capabilities for better relevance. Agents will now use the context of the current email and semantically relevant keywords to identify similar attachments from previous email threads.
  • Attachment Size Increase: The maximum attachment size has been increased to 4MB, allowing the Agent to process larger files.
  • **Expanded Attachment Types**: We've added support for Microsoft file types: Excel (xls, xlsx), Word (doc, docx), and PowerPoint (ppt, pptx). PowerPoint and older Excel files (.xls) will only extract text content for analysis, not images or layouts. To process spreadsheet data, please export your Excel files to CSV format before sending them to the agent.

Agent Portal:

  • **Integrated Agent Web Portal (UI)**: The new Agent portal has been integrated to give users the ability to add agents, manage web context URLs, and control user permissions. This gives users more control over their email agent setup and agent context.

Enhanced Contextual Understanding:

  • Web Index: Users can now add web URLs (via the Agent Portal) to build the agent's context, allowing it to crawl and index the content for more comprehensive recall capabilities/relevance. The new vector database supports a larger number of URLs (up to 100), making it easier to search across multiple web documents (html only).
  • Increased Agent Memory: We've boosted Agent memory storage capacity and performance. Users can now expect 50% faster performance and 5X the storage capacity (longer email threads or messages before truncating). We've also introduced a "forget" functionality, allowing you to re-index the agent's memory by deleting specific emails. This feature is currently only accessible to Fynch admins, with a user interface option coming soon (in the interim, please send an email message to "help at getfynch dot com" to have an agent forget a message).
  • Advanced Summarization: Agents now utilize advanced summarization techniques to capture the key points of both current and previous emails in a thread. This allows the agent to maintain a deeper understanding of the conversation's context, resulting in more relevant and helpful responses, even in complex or lengthy email chains.

Collaborative Features:

  • **Multiple Agent Collaboration**: Users can now include multiple agents in a single email message by CC'ing them. For example, you can CC both a content agent (@dev-content) and a strategy agent (@dev-strat) to allow both agents to engage with the email content and provide their unique perspectives. Agents will not respond to each other and will remove each other from follow-up messages to maintain a focused and streamlined workflow.
